STARTER UNIT: ENGLISH GLOSSARY

HI! We've already started to learn new vocabulary and here it's is!!

STRIKE: A period of time when workers refuse to work because of an argument with an employer about working conditions, pay levels, or job losses.

TO MAKE SOMEONE DO SOMETHING: To force someone do something.

UNLIKE: Different from someone or something.

PUNISHMENT: The act of punishing someone

A SOCKET:

MEAN:Not generous.

FARES: The money that you pay for a journey in a vehicle such as a bus or train.


BIKE LANE: A part of the road or a special path for the use of people riding bicycles.

TO WORK OUT:To do physical exercise.

DIDN'T EXPECT SOMEONE TO DO SOMETHING

EITHER: Me too.

NEITHER: The opposite of either.

FOOTWEAR: Shoes, boots, or any other outer covering for the human foot.

BAREFOOT: Not wearing any shoes or socks.

TO MANAGE: To be able to do something.

TO GIVE A LIFT: Llevar a alguien

MOPED: A scooter

RUSH HOUR: The time when roads and trains are very busy because a lot of people are travelling to or from work
BOLD AND DARLING: Brave.

HUFFING AND PUFFING: Blowing.

TO SLAM: To close with great force, or to make something close with great force.
